Protection

The GCA is active in all aspects of river protection, including environmental impacts, river management issues, and protecting paddlers' access to rivers. The GCA monitors 20 miles of the Chattahoochee River for The Upper Chattahoochee Riverkeeper. The GCA sponsors cleanups on a number of rivers.

The GCA maintains contact with national, state and local environmental organizations, federal and state agencies, and river protection organizations throughout the country.

The GCA has been actively involved in the efforts to secure water flows through the Tallulah Gorge.
